A poet, essayist, professor, and mother, Nancy Reddy debunks archaic social norms and cracks the code on what “good mothering” really means for each of us. Her work has been featured in Slate, Romper and Electric Literature, among others. With an MFA in poetry and a PhD in rhetoric and composition, she teaches at Stockton University in New Jersey and leads a plethora of community writing and lifelong learning workshops.
Reddy is the author of three books of poetry (most recently Pocket Universe), and her first narrative nonfiction, The Good Mother Myth: Unlearning Our Bad Ideas About How to Be a Good Mom, is being released in January 2025 with St. Martin’s Press. Her Substack newsletter, “Write More, Be Less Careful” is a place for “writing encouragement, inspiration and practical guidance.”
